How to play NASCAR Pick'Em

Each week you pick seven NASCAR Cup Series drivers. After the race, the official NASCAR finishing points of your seven drivers are added up, and the highest total wins the week.

Joining a pool

Invited by your pool admin? You don't need an account first. Open the email invitation from NascarPickEm (subject NascarPickEm.com - Invitation) and click the link. The page that opens shows your email and the pool. Choose a username (12 characters max) and a password, type the password again and click Join. There's no separate sign-up and no confirmation email: you land logged in on your pool's homepage.

Each invitation link only works for the email address it was sent to. Can't find it? Check your spam folder, or ask your pool admin to send it again.

No invitation email?

  1. Sign up, confirm your email and log in.
  2. Choose Join A Pool.
  3. Enter the pool name and invitation code from your pool admin and click Join. The code is case sensitive.

Making your weekly picks

  1. Open Weekly Pool > Entry Form and choose the race week.
  2. Tick seven drivers. Each row is one driver in that week's lineup.
  3. At least three must be light red. Black rows can't be picked.
  4. Make your picks before the race starts. You can change them until the race locks.

The columns: Start is the starting position. POS, Points, Wins, Top 5 and Top 10 are the driver's current Cup Series standings.

What the row colors mean

The colors come from each driver's starting position and their rank in Cup points.

Black rows

Starting in the top 10 and ranked in the top 5 in Cup points. These drivers can't be picked.

Light red rows

Starting 15th or further back and ranked 15th or further back in Cup points. At least three of your seven must be light red.

Light green rows

Everyone else. Pick as many as you like, as long as at least three of your seven are light red.

Locks

Picks lock at the scheduled race start. After that you'll see This race is locked. Picks can no longer be changed.

  • Make or change your seven picks any time before the scheduled start.
  • Once the race locks, only your pool admin (in admin mode) can change picks.

Good to know

The site runs on Eastern time. Race times and locks are Eastern.

Check the race schedule for every race and start time.

Scoring and Winner of the Week

After the race, the site administrator loads the official NASCAR finishing points from NASCAR.com. Your score for the week is the total points of your seven drivers.

The player with the highest total wins the week and is shown as Winner of the Week on Weekly Results.

Example

  • Sarah's seven drivers scored 28 + 39 + 26 + 16 + 40 + 15 + 37 = 201.
  • Mike scored 197, Jason 161.
  • Winner of the Week: Sarah.

Season standings

The season standings add up every week's points. Weekly Summary (Weekly Pool > Summary) lists each week's winner and every player's season totals: weeks played, weeks won, costs, winnings, net amount and season points.

Amounts show in Pts unless your pool plays for $. Your pool admin decides that and the weekly entry fee.

Live results

Weekly Results (Weekly Pool > Results) updates in real time during the race. Each player gets a card with their seven drivers and points, and the leader is shown at the top.

Your pool admin

Every time your pool admin logs in, they're logged in as a user just like you. To change picks for a locked race, edit settings or invite players, the admin switches to admin mode with Pool > Pool Admin / User (Play as: Admin, Submit).

Your pool admin also sets the invitation code, chooses Pts or $, sets the weekly entry fee and posts news for the pool. Contact your pool admin for any setting you need changed.
